Personalized English Lessons
This English program has been created to specifically help adults and young adults with their college and/or professional careers. Whether you have a speech and debate class, or you are required to speak to your clients or customers in English, this program is designed to assist you with enhancing your English skills so you can use them, comfortably, when you need to. There are three types of personalized lessons provided: Public Speaking (skills-based English), Business English and General English. Continue reading to learn more!
Skills-Based Lessons
These online sessions are geared toward young adults and adults who may struggle with speaking in public. The purpose of each session is to help you build the needed confidence to participate in group discussions, class discussions, or present in front of your classmates or colleagues, who you may feel are judging your every word. This course consists of various activities such as role plays, presentations and mock interviews...all depending on what your specific needs are. Examples of skills that are focused on include research skills, writing, editing, or enthusiasm and modulation when speaking.
Business English
These online sessions are designed for adults whose first language is not English, but may work in an industry with English speakers. This means that you need to know how to communicate effectively and efficiently, in order to meet your business' needs. The purpose of these sessions is to help you present, discuss and negotiate as needed for your professional career whether that is in person, on the phone or via videoconferencing. Some examples of activities that are included in these sessions are how to answer phone calls, write an email and dealing with difficult clients or customers.
These targeted lessons focus on the specific needs of each individual and may be scheduled in addition to small group lessons, with a maximum of six students per class. While learning the grammar and conversational style of American English, students have the opportunity to practice and apply what they are learning through one-on-one instruction, pair work, and small-group activities.
